Ilmajoki Music Festival

The Great Wrath is a powerful and topical opera that will bring the animus of the Great Northern War and the fate of our forebears to the banks of the Kyrö river. It is a tale of family ties, maternal love, tenacity and the strength of teamwork during a brutal Russian invasion that razed Ostrobothnia to the ground. Directed by Tuomas Parkkinen with libretto by Anneli Kanto and music by Uljas Pulkkis, this spectacular production will mark the Golden Jubilee of Ilmajoki Music Festival. Juho Lindström and Leena Rintala will take charge of staging and costumes. A wide range of concerts will round off the festival programme.
