Haapavesi Folk Music Festival

Regularly organised since 1989, this folk music event also finds room for world music, jazz and other genres to enhance our magical summer nights. The programme in 2026 will also feature a new FolkAreena venue where local people, culture lovers, experts and artists can exchange ideas on contemporary cultural themes. Our intimate church concerts will also provide experiences for listeners, with folk courses leading up to the main event setting the tone for the international festival week.
